Beauty and the beast

Oh my gosh, so my older sister and I love to act silly, and goofy like 24/7.
When my sister was younger, she was an artistic freestyle figure skater and my mom made her a giant buffalo head to go along with one of her programs; we have kept it ever since!
She stood in my doorway with the giant buffalo head on and told me to get on my yellow gown... Here, I'll post the outcome of the amazing idea we had!(:

I bonded with Miss America 2011

Theresa Scanlon, Miss America 2011, was in Minnesota over the weekend! She was advocating for the Star Legacy foundation of Minnesota. Star legacy focuses on teaching about Still Birth Prevention, and Detection! I had the amazing opportunity to chat with her!(: she is such AMAZING women! She was the youngest Miss America to ever be crowned; at 17; she was passed the deadline by one week when she was crowned Miss Nebraska ! I am so blessed to have known her, and to have had the opportunity to be with her! (: AHHHHHHHH ill never forget it!(:

A word of advice

Follow your dreams. Don't let ANYBODY pull you down. You are a beautiful individual who has your own unique destiny and fate! No one can change who you are, not the media, nor can bullies. Be yourself, don't be afraid to let yourself shine through. Be that friend that people dream of, be that student that every teacher wishes for, most importantly, be that one person that will change the world! I love each and every one of you!

Teen Beach Movie Beach Bash hosted by Radio Disney

I was invited to the beach bash party hosted by Radio Disney at the St. Paul Union Depot. It was so much fun! I was at the Water Park of America Booth signing autographs, but of course you know me- I went off and played games with all the kids and competed in the contests! The movie itself was so much fun! It was such a great movie, and my favorite part is when the main character pushed through the crowd to the front and he’s acting all cool, and tough but when he gets up there, he says “what?” in this really high pitched, silly voice; you would never expect it and it’s so funny! Thank you Radio Disney, and Water Park of America for inviting me to your event!

The Minnesota Lake Festag days!

The entire festival sounded so awesome and interesting but unfortunately I was only there for the last night; and for the queen’s tea, parade, and coronation. The queen’s tea was so fun! I had the chance to meet with local royalties from the southern part of Minnesota, including my local sister Anna Burns, Miss Waseca County Sleigh and Cutter Outstanding Teen, and the winner for the LONGEST TITLE EVER! After the Tea, we got lined up for the parade, it was a blast! My driver’s name was Mr. Anderson, he was a social worker, and guidance counselor in the elementary, and middle schools. He got more attention than I did, and he impressed me by knowing every kid’s, and parent’s name! We topped the night off, with the queen’s coronation. We crowned the new Miss Festag, the first runner up and the second runner up. All the amazing 11 contestants were absolutely beautiful! Until next time-

Miss Morris Area/ Miss Midwest pageant 2013! A night to remember for the Swiggum family!

On Saturday morning I had the opportunity to help out with rehearsals down in Waseca, Minnesota for the Miss Waseca County Sleigh and Cutter/ Miss South central pageant on August 3^rd. In august I’ll be giving up my title of Miss South Central’s Outstanding Teen 2012 as Miss Minnesota’s Outstanding Teen 2013! I will be crowning a successor including crowning two local princesses! One of them just so happens to be MY little sister! We had a great rehearsal and I got to know a few of the girls! After rehearsal I headed up to Morris, Minnesota for the Miss Morris area/ Miss Midwest competition! My older sister Chelsea was in the running for Miss Midwest. It was her first pageant and my entire family was so excited! 

Out of respect for my sister, who was doing karate as her talent, I decided I would sing again at this pageant! I sang the climb by Miley Cyrus! My sister did fantastic! She won personal interview, which is always a huge honor! She also won the title of Miss Midwest 2013!

Congratulations to Miss Morris Area 2013 Cassy Hickmen

 I’m so proud of her! She was beautiful on stage and she really stood out! I can’t wait to see where this takes her in life! Now if you notice, there are three crowns in my family! One for every division of the Miss America organization; Miss, Teen, Princess! On top of that, it’s also a state title holder (me), a local title holder (Chelsea) and a princess (Caylie)!

This is so great! I can’t wait! Today I’m on my way up to Hugo, Minnesota for Stacy McBride’s ninja party she is hosting for her son! I'm a ninja tonight, SO EXCITED! See you all very soon!

Miss Northwest 2013 Pageant

This past Friday I was invited to the Miss Northwest Scholarship pageant and the Miss Northwest teen pageant (Not affiliated with the MAOT organization). Miss Minnesota, my “big sister” gave up her local title, and crowned a successor! The new Miss Northwest is someone the MAOT pageants have seen before, Chantal Wilson aka MMOT 2007!

 I’m so happy to see former teens continuing into “Miss” program! The Miss Northwest pageant was my first pageant as the state title holder! I was honored to do my talent, and I did not drop my weapon which is always nice! sorry this was such a short blog! its been a busy past couple of days with my family! (:
